Manuela G. Galaz, 83, of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday September 16, 2006. She was born August 17, 1923 in Berino, NM to Julio and Mercedes Guzman. Manuela was a strong member of the Catholic Church and had a great love for her God. She was always willing to go the extra mile for her family and many friends, and will be remembered for her loving nature and big heart. She loved to coo...
Manuela G. Galaz, 83, of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday September 16, 2006. She was born August 17, 1923 in Berino, NM to Julio and Mercedes Guzman. Manuela was a strong member of the Catholic Church and had a great love for her God. She was always willing to go the extra mile for her family and many friends, and will be remembered for her loving nature and big heart. She loved to cook, music and dance at a good fiesta. Manuela will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her four sons, Freddie and wife Gloria, George, David and companion Maria, and Robert "Bobby" Sr. and wife Veronica all of Las Cruces, NM; three daughters Minnie Galaz Lara and husband Ramon of Redlands, CA; Gloria Galaz and companion Rudy Venzor of Las Cruces, NM, and Sally Galaz all of of the family home; one daughter in-law Ramona Galaz of Dona Anna, NM. She is also survived by one sister, Juanita Rosales and husband Gonzalo; two sister in-laws, Rosita Nevarez and husband Jose Luis of Tortugas, NM, and Consuelo Galaz of Las Cruces, NM; thirty grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, Santiago T. Galaz Jr., son Paul "Chapo" Galaz, her mother, and two sisters, Rosalia Perez and Bertha Reyna. A visitation will be held Wednesday September 20, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home from 5-7 PM with a rosary to follow at 7PM. The funeral mass will be Thursday September 21, 2006 at 10 AM at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Gerardo Rivera. The rite of committal will be given at the San Jose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Nevarez, Gilbert Rosales, Sally and Gloria Galaz, Pablo Galaz Jr., Robert Galaz Jr., Santiago Lara, and Jaime Gonzales. PDF Printable Version
