Margaret A. Fouillet, 90, of Las Cruces, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012. "Maggie" or "Dodie" as she was fondly known was born Jan. 18, 1922 in Las Cruces to Baltazar Fouillet and Donaciana Armenta. She was a lifelong member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Sacred Heart Association. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, gambling, cooking, music and dancing....

Margaret A. Fouillet, 90, of Las Cruces, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012. "Maggie" or "Dodie" as she was fondly known was born Jan. 18, 1922 in Las Cruces to Baltazar Fouillet and Donaciana Armenta. She was a lifelong member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Sacred Heart Association. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, gambling, cooking, music and dancing. She also was awarded many times for her community service to our city, but her passion was for her family. Margaret is survived by her nieces Ella Marie Gamboa, Gloria Martin, Margaret Zuniga, Mary Murillo, Cindy Forte, Lydia Guzman, Jeanette and Kathie Casaus; nephews Louis Lee Jr., Freddie, Jimmy and Oscar Armenta, Frank, Richard, Donald and Michael Casaus and by her sister-in-law Stella Armenta. She was preceded in death by her sisters Consuelo Apodaca, Antonia Lee and Jean Casaus; her brother Ralph Armenta and her lifelong companion Tommy Aldridge. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to her nephews and great-nephew Bobby Apodaca. A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 6 pm. Her funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 10 am on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
