Margery S. Burt

MARGERY S. BURT, 89, of Las Cruces, went to be with her beloved husband, Bon, on Friday, April 29th, 2011. She died peacefully while surrounded by her family at Memorial Medical Center, where she had been a volunteer for over 30 years. Mrs. Burt was born on September 8th, 1921 to James Shahan and Hattie Mae Wimple Shahan in Waurika, Oklahoma. She came to New Mexico as a child, traveling by covered wagon. She was active in the community serving tirelessly as a volunteer with her childrens' schools, her church, and was a pink lady extraordinaire. She was a member of NARFE, the Oral History Club and Federated Republican Women. Margery is survived by her daughters, Janice Schryer and husband Don of Alamogordo; Dell Crawford and husband Mike of Peyton, Colorado; and Cyndi Sedillo and husband Jimmy of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by her six grand children, Kelly Mahres and husband Miles of Las Cruces; Adam Schryer and wife Asheley of Columbia, South Carolina; Hollin Cherry and husband Newell of Sibley, Louisiana; Aidan Crawford and fianc
