Maria Arabella Manzanares, 89, of Las Cruces, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2013. She was born to Benito and Sabina Sandoval on Jan 26, 1924 but was raised thereafter by Celestino and Nepomosena Aragon. Maria Arabella Manzanares, 89, of Las Cruces, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2013. She was born to Benito and Sabina Sandoval on Jan 26, 1924 but was raised thereafter by Celestino and Nepomosena Aragon. Maria enjoyed numerous hobbies especially knitting, crocheting, blanket making, and doing jigsaw puzzles. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two daughters Rita Villegas and Dee Von Schriltz; two sons Michael (Anna) Manzanares and Robert Manzanares; two brothers Guillermo (Loyda) Sandoval and Ralph (Diane) Sandoval; three sisters Francis Aragon; Annie Arellano; and Pauline Tarin. Other survivors include two of her husband's sisters Louisa (Joe) Gallegos and Claudine (Tom) Vacante. Three of her brothers widows Orlinda Sandoval, Emma Aragon, and Cora Aragon; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Malaquias, a son, Raud, a daughter, Catalina, two sons-in-law, Joe Villegas and James Von Schriltz, four brothers and four sisters. Visitation for Maria will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 where a Prayer Service will be held at 6 p.m. at Emanuel Baptist Church, 1515 E. Mulberry St. in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Funeral Service will be held will take place Friday, September 27, 2013 at 10 a.m at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 905 S.
