Maria D. Giron, 95, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011. Cande as she was fondly known was born Aug. 14, 1915 in Dawson, NM to Policarpio and Rosa Rodriguez Donato. Maria D. Giron, 95, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011. Cande as she was fondly known was born Aug. 14, 1915 in Dawson, NM to Policarpio and Rosa Rodriguez Donato. She had been a member of Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, NM. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden, sewing, cooking, arts and crafts but her passion was for her family who will forever love and miss her. Maria is survived by her children Carlos Giron and wife Genevieve, Oscar Giron, Robert Giron and wife Blanca, Yolanda Gale, Salvador Giron and companion Yolanda and Pedro Giron and wife Sylvia. Also surviving her are 29 grand, 60 great and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Carlos, son Mario, daughter Rosita, brothers Chon and Julio and by sisters Valentina, Trini and Eulalia. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, NM with her prayer vigil to follow at 7 pm. Maria's funeral mass to celebrate her life is at 10 am on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 also at Our Lord of Mercy with Fr. Carlos Espinoza officiating. Rite of Committal will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery also in Hatch. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Maria's grandchildren PDF Printable Version
