URANGA Maria de la Cruz (Mary) G. Uranga, 91 of Las Cruces, NM was called by her father in Heaven into his care on Sunday, July 15, 2007. Mary was born April 28, 1916 in San Miguel, NM to Santiago Telles Gonzales and Celestina Gutierrez Fierro. URANGA Maria de la Cruz (Mary) G. Uranga, 91 of Las Cruces, NM was called by her father in Heaven into his care on Sunday, July 15, 2007. Mary was born April 28, 1916 in San Miguel, NM to Santiago Telles Gonzales and Celestina Gutierrez Fierro. Mary grew up in the Mesilla Valley where she met and married George Uranga, a soldier in the Army Air Corp. They traveled throughout the country to include Tampa, Florida; Aurora, Colorado; California, Texas, and Arizona. Albuquerque finally became home to them and daughter Carmen. Mary returned to Las Cruces where she was active with the Catholic Church and an active member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Her favorite pastimes included crossword puzzles, bingo, novellas, and watching old western movies. Mary always enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a cookie. She also loved wearing the color pink. Mary is survived by daughter Carmen Loveland and husband Glen; her sister Dolores G. Telles; sister-in-law Cuca Gonzales. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren Lorraine M. Paul, Greg and Jeromy Holmes and by three great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Manuel, husband George Uranga, and brother-in-law Elfego L. Telles Sr. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday July 17, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7:00 PM.
