Our beloved Maria Elena Dominguez "Guera", 79, peacefully passed away on November 4, 2022. She was born on April 30, 1943, in Tortugas, New Mexico where she lived her entire life. Maria Elena was a loving, generous, and selfless woman who was always willing to do anything for her family no matter how big or small the obstacles were. Maria Elena has always been a kind daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and no one had anything ever bad to say about her. She was able to give her family the life she always wanted for them and supported them through all their aspirations even if it seemed impossible. Maria Elena was a native of the Tortugas village where many always saw her riding her bike and helping one way or another. She is survived by her daughter, Antonia Dominguez, her granddaughter, Sabrina Diaz, and her grandsons, Christopher Dominguez and Xavier Dominguez, and her great-granddaughters, Luna Fuentes, and Gabriella Fuentes. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mass will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady Guadalupe Shrine and Parish church on 3600 Paroquia St., Tortugas, New Mexico; then followed she will be laid to rest at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Tortugas, New Mexico.
