Maria Gloria Martinez, 83 of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at her home. She was born March 31, 1923 in Clint, Texas to Bonifacio and Rafaela Ortiz Palma. Maria Gloria Martinez, 83 of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at her home. She was born March 31, 1923 in Clint, Texas to Bonifacio and Rafaela Ortiz Palma. As life long resident of the area, she owned and operated the Golden Crust Bakery for over 50 years. Gloria was also a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by two sons, Chuy Diaz and his wife Julia of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Joe Diaz and his wife Esperanza of El Paso, Texas. Two daughters, Ruth Williams and her husband Russell of Anthony, NM and Dolores Beltran and her husband Aurelio of Las Cruces. Gloria is also survived by one sister Emilia Fernandez and many loving nieces and nephews of El Paso, Texas.Las Vegas, Nevada, New Orleans, Louisiana and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Also surviving Gloria are 11 grandchildren, Russell Williams Jr, Jessica Ferrales and her husband Ernie, Jeanne Williams, Connie Fresquez, Annette Diaz, Jesus Diaz III, Gloria Diaz, Gabriel Diaz, Erica Beltran, Bobby Beltran and Jesus Beltran, 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Jesus Diaz Martinez, one son Cruz Diaz; daughter, Gloria Dolores Diaz; granddaughter, Dianna Diaz; two brothers, Pablo and Gabriel Palma, and two sisters, Connie Kearns and Inez Palma.
