Sweet beautiful Maria Isabel (Marisa) Oakeley Hubbard died unexpectedly on March 7, 2016. Marisa was a kind, gentle soul who loved her family and all that life offers. Her quick wit, sense of fashion and smile were traits that endeared her to those who knew her. She was born February 17, 1964 in Taos, New Mexico and moved to Las Cruces with her family four years later. She attended Las Cruces High School and New Mexico State University. In 1992 Marisa married the love of her life, Dru Hubbard. Together they had two amazing, loving sons, Clayton and Jacob. Her father, Thomas Oakeley and brother, Reece, preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and sons, survivors include her mother, Concha Oakeley of Las Cruces; siblings, David Oakeley, Santa Fe; Cecilia Oakeley Haskins, Dallas; Laura Oakeley Jordan, Arlington, TX; and Cristina Oakeley Allen, Nashville; mother-in-law, Barbara Hubbard and brother-in-law Hub Hubbard and wife Lee of Las Cruces, and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Services will be held on March 12, 10:30 a.m., St. Albino Basilica, Mesilla, NM. Marisa, who left us much too early, always will live on in our hearts, and as an organ donor, will live on. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to Mesilla Valley Hospice. PDF Printable Version
