Marshall Hoyt Lynch born May 23, 1926 passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 in Las Cruces at the young age of 92. He is survived by his life mate Lenore (Karen) Rodriguez, his sons Larry and Doug, daughters Marsha and Lynda, and their mother, Alta Hastie. Marshall has 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Lenore's children Barbara and Michael Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his son Terry. Marshall was born in San Antonio, Texas and later moved to New Mexico where he spent the remainder of his life. From 1942 to 1946 he served in the Pacific Theater of WWII as a member of the US Marine Corps. He enjoyed all things automotive, which led him to become a well-known and respected mechanic in the Mesilla Valley. His automotive career led him to enjoy racing stock cars, restoring classic cars and trucks, and attending many Car Shows and events as a member of Christian Cruzers of Las Cruces. His "Buick" Pickup was a source of great pride, and wherever he drove it, many heads would turn. He also became an excellent bowler and participated in many leagues and regional tournaments. We would like to thank the nurses and staff of 4 West at Mountain View Regional Medical Center, Welbrook Transitional Rehabilitation and Mesilla Valley Hospice for their grace, favor and caring hearts. The family would like to invite all those who knew and loved Marshall to gather with us for a time of reflection and celebration Monday, June 25th at 2:00 pm at Getz Funeral Home. Please bring your memories and stories to share. All automotive enthusiasts are encouraged to bring your rides. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 Montana Avenue, Las Cruces, NM 88005. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home, corner of Solano and Bowman Ave. To sign our local online guestbook, please log onto: www.GetzCares.com.
