Nancy was born and grew up in Nyack, New York. She graduated from Nyack high School and Plattsburgh State Teachers College. After a few years of teaching in high schools in Rockland County, NY she went to NMSU in the early 1960's for her Masters Degree in Education.While at NMSU, she became enchanted with NM and made it her home for the next 50 years. Nancy was born and grew up in Nyack, New York. She graduated from Nyack high School and Plattsburgh State Teachers College. After a few years of teaching in high schools in Rockland County, NY she went to NMSU in the early 1960's for her Masters Degree in Education.While at NMSU, she became enchanted with NM and made it her home for the next 50 years. Nancy enjoyed teenagers and truly loved her students. She was an excellent bridge player and loved all kinds of music. She loved to travel and used every opportunity to do that. Nancy took advantage of the many social and cultural activities that were available at NMSU where her husband was a professor of Agronomy. Nancy had a lively faith and a very generous nature and she supported the Catholic education of several children in the local area and elsewhere.She is predeceased by her husband, W. Powell Anderson and her parents, George V. and Marian C. Dorsey. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Thomas P. Dorsey, Francis Dorsey, Sr. Vincentia Dorsey, and Ellen Dorsey Ziegler and their families and by her many friends. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Good Samaritan Employee Christmas Fund.
