Mary Ann Dube, 87, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2005, at University Terrace Good Samaritan Village surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children, Charles E. Dube and wife Lynn of Kansas City, MO, David J. Dube and Kathleen A. Dube both of Mesilla Park, NM and one granddaughter, Nicole C. Dube, currently serving in Iraq. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Wanda J. Dube and her husband of 46 years Joseph P. Dube. Mary was born as the only child to Edwin and Myra (Scott) Flook on January 4, 1918 in Richmond, Indiana. Graduating from Richmond High School in 1937, she went on to complete nursing school at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1940. She served her country honorably during World War II in the Army Nurse Corps serving at various U.S. Army Hospitals. From 1944 to 1945 she was in the China-Burma-India theatre at a combat support hospital in the Assam Valley in India. From 1945 to 1947 she served with a medical detachment aboard ships that were bringing soldiers back from Europe. It was there she met her husband, Joseph Dube. They were married on June 12, 1948 in New York City. She then started her life as a military wife, accompanying her husband and taking the family to pasts around the U.S., Europe and the Middle East, retiring in 1971 in Las Cruces, NM. She enjoyed many craft and home activities and played Bridge as a member of the Las Cruces Bridge Club. With failing health and reduced eyesight, she moved to Good Samaritan Village in 1996. She enjoyed a long, full life that centered around her family, who will miss her companionship, wise council and with. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at University Terrace Good Samaritan Retirement Village.
