It is with great sorrow that we inform our neighbors, friends and relatives that Mary E. Gonzales of Mesquite, NM died on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009. She was born Sept. 16, 1931 in Ocate, NM to Juan and Santana Manchego. It is with great sorrow that we inform our neighbors, friends and relatives that Mary E. Gonzales of Mesquite, NM died on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009. She was born Sept. 16, 1931 in Ocate, NM to Juan and Santana Manchego. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and gave freely of her time as a volunteer with the Casa de Peregrinos but her passion was for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her four wonderful children; Mary (Tina) married to Albino Fierro, Lucille married to Donald (Don) Montoya, Manuel "Sonny" Gonzales married to Sylvia, and Carolyn (Carrie) married to Ruben Telles; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters Mary Ellen (Don) Brumfield and Dolores (Dick) Nakatani; brothers Bonifacio (Minnie), Robert (Lorraine), Raymond (LeAnn) and Jesse (Bobbie) Manchego and by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Manuel Gonzales; her parents; brothers Fred, Tony, Jose, and by her sister Juanita (Manchego) Rodriguez. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. Her funeral mass will be at 10 AM on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Mesquite, NM. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers are her brothers. PDF Printable Version
