Mary Esther "Wera" (Garcia) Soliz, 70 years old passed away in the house of the Lord Sunday June 11th, 2023. Esther was born February 4th, 1953, in the Village of Hatch to Jimmie C. Garcia and Enriqueta (Castillo) Garcia. She was a 1972 graduate of Hatch Valley High School. Throughout her life, Esther was a homemaker who was also heavily involved with ministry in her community. Esther enjoyed spreading the word of the Lord to anyone and everyone, it didn't matter where or when. She was happiest spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her dogs. She was often described as the sweetest lady, who could just talk forever. Esther is preceded in death by her father Jimmie Garcia, mother Keta Garcia, and nephew John Isaac Fields. She is survived by two brothers: David (Lilian) Garcia of Alaska, Bennie Joe (Yolanda) Garcia of Arizona, two sisters; Anita Fields of Texas, Elisida (Johnny) Benavidez of Louisiana; son Sammy (Mary Jo) Apodaca, and three daughters Bobbie Jo (Kevin) Radcliff, Katie Beth Apodaca, and Ellie Mae Apodaca all of Las Cruces, NM; four grandchildren Gabriel Garcia, Brandon Christopher Apodaca, Austin Christopher Apodaca, and Kenneth Christopher "K.C." Apodaca; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at 10 am on July 8, 2023 at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave. Las Cruces NM 88001.
