Mary Frances Haynes passed away in Las Cruces, New Mexico on April 11, 2024 at the age of 88.

Mary Frances Haynes passed away in Las Cruces, New Mexico on April 11, 2024 at the age of 88.


She was born on September 5, 1935 in Clay, West Virginia. Her parents were John and Corda Gray. She had one brother, Junior Gray, who predeceased her.


She married Kenneth Haynes on October 31, 1953 in Clay, West Virginia. They had two children, Michael and John.


Mary was an avid painter. She was a student of Cynthia Guzevich and Norma Jones. She won the Grumbacher Award for painting. She was a member of Las Cruces Arts & Crafts, Black Range Artists and Friday Painters. She also enjoyed hiking, kayaking, photography and riding 4-wheelers.


Kenneth and Mary were married for 69 years. Kenneth preceded her in death on November 23, 2022. She is survived by her son Michael Haynes and his wife, Kathy Haynes and her son John Haynes and his wife, Sophia Maya and her niece, Barbara Vollen.


Mary will be buried alongside Kenneth at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas. The service was held on May 10, 2024 at 2:30pm.
