Mary Gonzalez Garcia

Mary Gonzalez Garcia, 74 formally of Las Cruces, NM died in Fresno, CA on Wednesday April 16, 2014. She was born in Las Cruces, NM on April 1, 1940. Mary was devoted catholic and a friend to all with a heart of gold. She was known to help anyone in need including strangers and rescued dogs from the animal shelter. In fact, she leaves behind her beloved pet "Rocky," a chocolate lab. Mary was a licensed vocational nurse for many years. She enjoyed Country music. George Jones was her favorite singer. Mary also loved red roses. She looked forward to any occasion to receive roses from her husband. Mary enjoyed traveling visiting her family in NM any chance she could, going to casinos and Hatch Green Chile. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband, Freddie Garcia, brothers Johnny Gonzalez, jimmy Gonzalez, Mike Gonzalez and Jesse Gonzalez, her sister Mary Duran and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday April 24, 2014 at Getz funeral Home with a prayer vigil to follow at 7pm. Funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Friday April 25, 2014 at The Cathedral of the Immaculate heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at San Albino Cemetery.
