Mary Granados Sandoval of Alamogordo, NM died on March 20, 2008 of kidney failure. Mary was the second child to Luz Najera and Carlos Granados in Alamogordo. Mary later married her sweet heart, Andres Avelino Sandoval of Duran, NM. The two had four children and lived happily together for 25 years, until his death in 1972. Mary continued to have an exciting life traveling to visit her children and grandchildren located throughout the U.S., visiting casinos from the eastern seaboard to the West coast, and hanging out with her close friend Jacob Padilla. Mary will be missed for her feisty spirit, insightful advice and loving smile. But when her family and friends think back and remember her fondly, it will be her caring nature, undeniable respect for others and her ability to make everyone laugh. Mary is survived by a sister Lupe Chavez from Alamogordo, and Mary's four children: Mary Helen Vega of Dallas, Texas; Becky Turner of Chattanooga, TN; Richard A. Sandoval of Asheville, NC; and Bertha Shields of Las Cruces, NM. Mary is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren with one of the way. A Funeral Mass is scheduled at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Alamogordo. PDF Printable Version
