Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mary Lou Coyle entered eternal life on December 3, 2013 at her home in Las Cruces in the presence of her family. She was born April 4, 1938 in Buena Vista, CO to Herman and Hester Roberts. Mary Lou is survived by daughters Bonnie Coyle, Vicki Smith and husband Bob, Kris Lane and husband Curtis, sons Bill Coyle and wife Penny, Bud Coyle, Jim Coyle and wife Cheri, 21 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, brother Rob, sister Bobbi Jo, many extended family members and friends. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Peggy and Sue, husband Bill Coyle, daughter Kitty Bergender and son Floyd. Mary Lou first moved to Las Cruces in 1972 when her husband was transferred to WSMR. The transplanted Colorado native took quickly to the desert and was very happy in the warmth and sun of Dona Ana County. As a single mom raising three children, she worked her way through college to become a nurse. After meeting and marrying Bill Coyle in 1965 she spent the rest of her life devoted to him and the family they created together. She will be remembered as a loving caring person. Mary Lou worked for several years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Memorial General Hospital. She spent much of the later years of her life being the primary caregiver to the love of her life, Bill Coyle. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, watching television (especially NCIS), doing puzzles, taking care of her pets, but mostly she loved her family. In Mary's and Bill's name, the family home will be sold with the proceeds being devoted to charities as dictated in her will. A memorial service will take place at Peace Lutheran Church, 1701 Missouri Avenue in Las Cruces on Saturday, December 7th at 2:30 PM. A reception will immediately follow at the family home. Mary Lou will be interred at Fort Bliss National Cemetery where she will be next to her beloved husband Bill. PDF Printable Version
