On Wednesday Dec. 9th, 2020 Maryann Kratzke passed away in her sleep at home just one month shy of a milestone 102nd birthday. Maryann was born on January 10, 1919 in Braddock, PA. She and her late husband, Ted, retired to Las Cruces in 1983 from Roslyn, PA. She was a member of the Munson Senior Center. She was a pink lady volunteer at Las Cruces Memorial Medical Center for two decades. An independent woman by nature, she enjoyed watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and tennis. She was so energetic and loved to dance, take walks, and stay active using her rowing machine and Gazelle at home for low impact workouts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, and son, Christopher. She is survived by her children Susan, Cynthia, Ted, 3 grandsons and 4 great grandchildren. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her dearly. Many heartfelt thanks to Dr. Duarte, Las Cruces, who provided compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, online donations to CARC, Inc., 902 W. Cherry Lane, Carlsbad, NM, www.carcinc.org, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Chris, her son, was a resident at CARC, Inc. As a dedicated mother, she always supported Chris during Special Olympics as he won many swimming and track gold medals. A memorial service is scheduled at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, followed by a burial at 1:00 pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Avenue, Las Cruces, NM 88001. Visit www.getzcares.com to sign the online guest book and to view livestream.
