Maura L. Samaniego, 87, of Berino, NM died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010. She was born March 8, 1922 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Miguel and Maria Lopez. Maura enjoyed the outdoors working in her garden and knitting but her passion was for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Maura L. Samaniego, 87, of Berino, NM died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010. She was born March 8, 1922 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Miguel and Maria Lopez. Maura enjoyed the outdoors working in her garden and knitting but her passion was for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Francisco Samaniego and wife Raquel of El Paso, TX; daughters Avelina Lopez, Eva Samaniego and companion Eduardo Villalobos and Rosie Corrales all of Chaparral, NM; brothers Beto Lopez and wife Jesus and Tobias Lopez and wife Pancha all of Zacatecas, Mexico; sisters Reyes Lopez of Chihuahua, Mexico, Adelaida Lopez and Lala Lopez both of Zacatecas, Mexico. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive Maura. She is preceded in death by her husband Natividad Samaniego, sons Adrian and Juan Pablo and by her parents. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home where her prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. Maura's funeral mass is at 10 am on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Esteban Villalobos, Eddie Villalobos, George Samaniego, Mike Zamora, Jessie, Lopez and Edward Villalobos. PDF Printable Version
