Maxine L. Tucker, 86, of Las Cruces, NM died Friday October 31, 2008 at her home. She was born September 16, 1922 in Clayton, NM to Tom and Fredareka Mansker. Maxine was a strong, proud, Godly woman, that made sure her family was always provided for, even in the toughest of times. She was a past member and Treasurer of the East Mesa Baptist Church before becoming a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Maxine was also very active in our community, serving as Treasurer for the Extension Club, and a member of the Sheriff's Posse, and a Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office Reserve Deputy for many years. She was also an avid bowler throughout her life, and recently won "Gold" in the Senior Olympics. But, the true "Gold" that she will be remembered most for, came from her heart, Maxine found the good in everyone, had time for those in-need and an open door for anyone that wanted to use it. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and most of all a provider. She had a knack of making everyone in her family feel special and cared for, her Christmas presents, that she made sure each of her seven children, their spouse's, 27 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren received each year, will be treasured and missed for years to come. She is survived by her three sons, Billy and wife Marilyn of Amarillo, TX James Adams of Las Cruces, NM and Ricky Farrell of Cerrillos, NM; four daughters, Roni Egbert and husband Rick of Abilene, TX Freida Hall and husband Wendel of Las Cruces, NM Mary Lou Threadgill of Wimberly, TX and Debbie Haynie and husband Donnie of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren as well as many other extended family, friends and dog Suzy. Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband H.B. Farrell, second husband Woody Tucker, and daughter Joanne Crowson. A visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Monday November 3, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday November 4, 2008 at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Linvell Tisdale of East Mesa Baptist Church and Pastor Scott Caldwell of the First Assembly of God Church. Pallbearers will be Brandy, Justin, and Tannon Lindsey, Tim and Preston Tharp, Sunny Adams and Billy Pollock. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Joe McKibben, Sky Adams, Jesse Haynie, Sammy and James Pollock, and Raymond and Ricky Farrel. PDF Printable Version
