Micaela R. "Mickey" Holguin 81, of Las Cruces died Friday November 10, 2006. Mickey was born on May 8, 1925 in Leemore, Texas to Teofilo and Hilaria Romero. The love Mickey had for her family and friends was only surpassed by her love of the lord and the virgin mother. Mickey is survived by six sons Gregory Holguin and wife Elva, Jesse Holguin and wife Jenny, Sammy Holguin, Benny Holguin, Joe Holguin and Minerva Garcia, Johnny Holguin and Shirley Olona, three daughters Mary Frances Montoya and husband Eddie, Yolanda Holguin and Joe Arambula, Helen Holguin and Tom Vasquez all of Las Cruces, Four brothters, Pedro Romero and wife Rosa of Las Cruces, Jesse Romero of Las Cruces, Phillip Romero and wife Gloria of La Mesa, Willie Romero of Denver, Colorado, three sisters, Mary Palmer and husband Kent of Las Cruces, Jenny Bernal and husband Ronnie of Las Cruces, Ofelia Derrera of Denver, Colorado, as well as 21 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Mickey was preceded in death by her loving husband Gregorio Holguin, two son, Pete Holguin, Jesse Holguin, two grandchildren Eddie Montoya, Michelle Montoya, one brother, Santos Romero, two sisters, Isabella Vargas and Petra Ortiz. A visitation for Mickey will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Tuesday November 14, 2006 from 5-7PM with a prayer vigil to follow at 7PM.
