Michael Anthony Rede joined his heavenly father on October, 29th 2017 in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of 59. Michael was born January 30th, 1958 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Gloria Apodaca and Angel Rede. He is survived by both parents, siblings John Rede, Yvonne Laurie and spouse Marcos Monsivais, Marcella Quinones and spouse Brent Quinones, Lawrence Archuleta and spouse Sara Archuleta, Brian Banegas and Robyn Banegas, Christy Rede, and Joshua Rede, wife of 19 years Brandi Rede, his children Bianca Rede and her finance Cody McNiel, Michael Ryan Rede, Winston Rasmussen, Cameron Rede, and Dimetri Rede, grandchildren Monique Rede, Destiny Rede, and Cody Rasmussen, nieces and nephews, April Rede and fianc Anthony Pegan (aka Michael), Jeremy Rede, Judah Archuleta and wife Rebecca, Uriah Archuleta, Jaden Archuleta, Myra Archuleta, Asher Archuleta, Ashlan Quinones, Mark Monsivais, Miguel Monsivais, Jaquelyn Paz, and Nathen Paz,; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in the community. Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents Lupe and Pablo Rede, and Consuelo Apodoca Lauterio. Michael was born and raised in Las Cruces where he spent most of his life. He attended Cruces High School where he participated in many athletic activities to included going undefeated in wrestling. Michael later attended Dona Ana Community College, NMSU, and Post University. Michael obtained his Associate Degree in Business Management as well as an Associate in General Studies and a Certificate in Real Estate. He was a member of the Kappa Beta Delta in which he received recognition of high scholastic achievement. Michael was passionate about school and considered himself a professional student. Michael traveled the nation working in various mines, refineries, and copper smelters. He was a member of various worker unions and spent many years as an employee at Western Refineries where he made many friends that he considered family. Michael was a handy man and could be found around the community helping anyone from simple repairs to building homes. Michael helped build Onate High School, Hotel Encanto, the Mall, and other structures within the state. Michael loved his community and believed in giving back. He coached many sport teams from little league up to high school. He had his class E license as a soccer coach. He loved all the children and treated them as his own. You could always hear and feel Michael's presence on the field. Michael loved God and shared his love by teaching Sunday school for 7 years. Michael could be found sharing his testimony of how God brought him to see his love and how God lead him to his wife Brandi. Michael never met a stranger. He was loved by all and will be missed beyond measure. Services are scheduled for November 3, 2017 at Getz Funeral Home located at 1410 E Bowman Ave, Las Cruces, NM. A viewing for the public will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm with services starting at 2 pm, and a reception to follow at the Beverly Hills Hall located at 150 Hermosa St. Las Cruces, NM.
