Michael J. Mullins, 56, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, May 9, 2013. Mike as he was fondly known was born October 11, 1956 in Las Cruces, NM to Malcom Mullins and Effie Bell. He had been an electrician with NASA with more than six years of faithful service, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and loved his dog Ruby but his passion was for his family. Michael J. Mullins, 56, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, May 9, 2013. Mike as he was fondly known was born October 11, 1956 in Las Cruces, NM to Malcom Mullins and Effie Bell. He had been an electrician with NASA with more than six years of faithful service, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and loved his dog Ruby but his passion was for his family. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother Effie Bell of Las Cruces; and sister Myra Mullins of Tabor, Iowa; brothers Jesse Mullins and Adam Mullins and step-mother Ada Mullins all of Austin, TX; niece Katie Mullins; nephews Casey and Curtis Morrical and Billy Mullins. Also surviving him are his dearest friends Maureen Greene, Dawny Nelson, Lilly and Jay. Mike was preceded in death by his father Malcolm Mullins, brother Bill Mullins and step-father Joel Bell. A Memorial to celebrate his life will be at 6 pm on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Getz Funeral Home. Mike's cremains will be laid to rest at a later date at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, NM.
