Miguel G. Cruz Jr. 73, of Las Cruces, died Monday, March 5, 2012. Mike as he was fondly known was born Nov. 15, 1938 in Las Cruces to Miguel and Lina Cruz Sr. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served our country honorably. Miguel G. Cruz Jr. 73, of Las Cruces, died Monday, March 5, 2012. Mike as he was fondly known was born Nov. 15, 1938 in Las Cruces to Miguel and Lina Cruz Sr. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served our country honorably. Mike also was a retired Technician from the City of Las Cruces after many years of faithful service. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, traveling and working on cars, but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Cruz of the family home; son Stephen Cruz and wife Elena of Las Cruces; sister Erlinda Borunda and husband Danny of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Estevan and Olivia and by nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home where his prayer vigil will follow at 6 pm. Mike's funeral mass to celebrate his life will be at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Moreno officiating. Rite of Committal is at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. The honor of being a pallbearer will go to family and friends. PDF Printable Version
