Miguel "Mike" Sanchez was born September 29, 1954 to a loving home of Alfredo & Delfina in Las Cruces, NM with many siblings. During his childhood, Mike grew up in Montebello, CA before moving back to Las Cruces. He attended school at Las Cruces High School where he first met his soul mate and future wife Pauline Barela. He continued his education with a Government degree from New Mexico State University. He always kept busy with multiple jobs, coaching, playing softball, and helping others. His multiple jobs during his early life include bartending, working at White Sands Missile Range, DEA, Social Security Administration (SSI) for over 20 years, and finally as a successful business owner as a Social Security Advocate. Mike was a hard-worker and took pride in any job he worked. He enjoyed meeting the families in which he helped and was a hero to many. He would listen to almost anyone and was a great confidant to many. He achieved many accomplishments in his life but we believe he was most proud of coaching baseball; he started coaching as a young man through becoming president of the little league to coaching his son many years later. His wittiness, humbleness, and humor were extended to friends & family. His love for sports, music, movies, and books was shared with those who knew him best; his memory will be carried on when we experience these activities. His mottos to live by include that everything happens for a reason, look for the best in things, stay humble, don't take things for granted, and to always turn a negative into a positive. We will carry on these lessons in his passing. Most of all, Mike adored his children and especially his grandchildren who will carry on his legacy. He loved spending time with the grandkids in the backyard playing basketball for hours, at the beach chasing waves, or visiting the Mission Church in San Juan Capistrano. Mike is predeceased by his parents and siblings; Salvador Sanchez, Spring Amendola, and Victoria Donatelli. He is survived by his spouse of 42 years - Pauline Barela Sanchez, his children and their spouses - Steven (Maritza) Sanchez and Stephanie (Nick) Dabreo, grandchildren Alessandro & Gianna Sanchez and Camari Dabreo. His siblings include Angie (Pat) Contreras, Katie Whitman, Alfredo (Stella) Sanchez, Tony (Sarah) Sanchez, Pauline (Eddie) Chavez, Sylvester Sanchez, Felix Sanchez, and Petra Sanchez. As well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Mike passed on February 10, 2023 which was his wife's birthday; he wanted to always be remembered on a special day.
