Mildred Anne Connor Morris was born December 9, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Lee and Betty Conner. She was loved and raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Chaney and Matt Lewis after her Mother passed away when she was an infant. She graduated from Central High School, Louisville, Kentucky. Mildred loved children, she ran her own day care business for over 34 years. Mildred accepted Christ at a young age, and was baptized at Lampton Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. She was very involved working in the nursery department for many years. She was a member of the Nurses Guild and held the position of President. Mildred loved to sing and was member of the Chapel Choir for many years, under the direction of Thomas Queen. Her brother, "Gene," reminded us that her car only played Gospel music! LOL… She loved Louisville and Lampton, but with her failing health, she made the decision to move to Las Cruces, New Mexico with her daughters and son in law. On June 2015 she joined Bethel 2nd Baptist Church. She loved her Pastor, Brian Harvey, he and our mother had a very special bond. She often talked about the love she had for her Lampton and Bethel church families. Mildred was a very talented seamstress, and "Fashionista!" Her talents were extended into her cooking and baking, Mixed Greens, Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potatoes, and her Pineapple Upside Down cake were simply A-MA-ZING! Many were blessed by her delicious cakes. Her favorite pastime was eating her pickles and lays potato chips while watching her soaps and western shows. Mildred was a beautiful person, inside and out, she will be missed by so many. Special thanks to Bethel, the wonderful staff at Good Samaritan Nursing Homes and Home Health Care, Mesilla Valley Hospice (La Posada), Getz Funeral Home, Dr.'s Faye Lafon and Luis Colato, whom she loved very much. God blessed her with six beautiful children, Cleophus (Kathy), Wallace (Cheryl), Robin, Sandra (Pat), Jeanette, Roselyn (Thad) and Vincent Alexander (Elisa). 11 Grandchildren, Rhonda (Ty), Fontaine (Dawn), Dawn, Chaquita, Chanise, Lenita (Eric), Mary, Brandon (Bernadette), Iman (Daniel), and Tyler.
