Minnie R. Montoya, 84, of Las Cruces, entered eternal life on Friday February 17, 2012. Minnie was born December 23, 1927, to Abrahn and Mattie Romero of Mesilla Park, NM. Minnie's love and devotion to the Lord and all that knew her was endless. No one ever left without hearing, "God bless you." She was the traditional mother and grandmother who helped in the upbringing of three nieces and all her grandchildren. Minnie enjoyed cooking for everyone, especially tortillas, no one ever left her home hungry. She also enjoyed sewing and making Indian costumes for the traditional church ceremonies. Later in life Minnie loved to go to the casino and play bingo. Minnie was survived by one son, Eddie (Wardo) and wife Mary Frances, of Tortugas, NM; four daughters; Crucita Montoya; Mary Sylvia Perez and husband Bobby; Norine Ceballos and husband Ignacio, all of Las Cruces, NM; Annie House and husband Harper of Raleigh, NC; one brother in-law Juan Montoya, of Tortugas, NM; and one sister in-law Josepha Romero; 14 Grandchildren; 21 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great great-grandchildren. She was Preceded in death by her beloved husband Manuel V. Montoya; six brothers; Willie, Pete, Roman, Alexandro, Charlie, Anastacio Romero; one sister Jenny Montoya; three Grandchildren; Eddie Jr., Lorraine,& Michelle Montoya. A visitation will take place at the Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 6-7PM, a prayer vigil will immediately follow at 7PM, with Fr. Don Adamski as Celebrant. The Funeral liturgy will take place at the Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday February 24, 2012 at 10:30AM, with Fr. Vincent Peterson as Celebrant.
