Miriam "Mia" Moreno, 27 of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, December 24, 2006 in Canutillo, TX. She was born September 17, 1979 in Northridge, California to Manuel and Maria Elena Moreno. Mia worked as an auditor for Kriegel and Co. in Las Cruces, NM and was a member of the Catholic Church. Mia lived in California for fifteen years then moved to Las Cruces and graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1998. Mia graduated from New Mexico State University in 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Mia is survived by her parents, Manuel and Maria Elena Moreno; her twin sister, Mireya and partner Nano Garza of Las Cruces; her niece, Mia Garza and her maternal grandmother Salome Chavira. Numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins also survive her. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday Dec. 28, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. The funeral liturgy will be at 10 AM on Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. The rite of committal and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be J.R.
