Muretta Belle McMillen, 80, of Las Cruces, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011. She was born June 26, 1931 in Brook, Indiana, to Roy Vinton and Nellie Belle Butterworth. She had been a National Senior Olympic Archery Champion, enjoyed going to the Eastside and Munson Centers where she was a billiards instructor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Muretta is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Richard McMillen of the family home; daughters Rebecca McMillen and husband Tim Mcgarry and Margo Hogg all of Indiana; sisters Joyce Slawnikowski and husband Joe and Diana Osburn and husband Leslie; brothers Wallace Butterworth and Robert Casey (and wife Mary); grandchildren Renne Holst and Bridget Creekmur and by great granddaughter Nixon McBride. Muretta was preceded in death by her son Jeff McMillen, brother Hollis Butterworth and by sisters Nita Phledder (and husband Ben) and Phyllis Antrim (and husband Kenny). At the family's request cremation has taken place and no local services are scheduled at this time. PDF Printable Version
