Myron Charles (Mike) Theodorson of Las Cruces died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on September 2, 1939 in Tioga, ND to Floyd and Myrtle Theodorson. Growing up, Mike worked with his parents and brother, Floyd, Jr., running the City Cafeteria in Tioga. He was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga, and was very active in sports and music through high school. Following graduation from Tioga High School in 1957, he attended North Dakota State University where he was a member of SAE fraternity. In 1960 he moved to Los Angeles, CA, and for the next 15 years he worked for Security Pacific National Bank in various locations in the LA area as a teller, operations manager, assistant manager, regional loan officer and for 4 years as vice-president and manager of the SPNB branch in Torrance, CA. Mike served his country honorably in the US Naval Reserves in Los Alamitos, CA. On Aril 20, 1968, he and Sue King were married at Wayfarer's Chapel in Palos Verdes, CA. and in 1975 Mike and his family moved to Las Cruces, NM where he began working at Steinborn Realty. In 1976 he opened Century 21 Theodorson Agency. He was a member of the Las Cruces Realtors Association, the Las Cruces Rotary Club, and was named Realtor of the Year in 1985. After 15 years in real estate, Mike opened the Norwest Mortgage office in Las Cruces and continued to work in the mortgage business after their merger with Wells Fargo. He retired in 2004, but continued to offer financial and real estate guidance to many friends and family. Mike has been a huge fan of music throughout the Mesilla Valley for 33 years, with a special love for Big Band music, Jazz or a good Sousa march. Mike is survived by Sue, his wife of 40 years, and his sons Brian of Las Cruces and Scott of Tustin, CA. He is also survived by his niece Judy Theodorson of Spokane, WA, nephews Mike and his wife Nancy of Columbus, OH, John of Puyallup, WA, and Karl of Gilbert, AZ. Additionally; he is survived by his sister-in-law Karen Berg of Spring, TX and her children Eric Berg of Bakersfield, CA and Carolyn Muirhead of Houston, TX. His surviving family also includes three very special aunts in Tioga, ND and cousins in North Dakota, Idaho and Washington. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Myrtle and his brother Floyd, Jr. At his request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at Getz Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm on Friday, April 11th 2008.
