Myron Eugene Mangum passed away August 7, 2012, at home in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with his devoted wife by his side. Myron was born September 6, 1935, in Dallas Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mary Armstrong Mangum, brother, Jerry Mangum of Terrell, Texas, sister, Lynn and brother-in-law, Galen Hulsing of Harveyville, Texas. Myron Eugene Mangum passed away August 7, 2012, at home in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with his devoted wife by his side. Myron was born September 6, 1935, in Dallas Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mary Armstrong Mangum, brother, Jerry Mangum of Terrell, Texas, sister, Lynn and brother-in-law, Galen Hulsing of Harveyville, Texas. He is also survived by stepdaughters Rebecca Beckham and Robin McRee, stepsons Rex and John McRee, step-grandchildren Ryan, Nick, Kelsi and Oren and his German Shepard and loyal companion and protector, Buck. He was preceded in death by father, Arthur Earl Mangum, mother, Evelyn Mangum, first wife, Jimmie Mangum and sister-in-law, Barbara Mangum. Myron graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas and was on the football team as tackle and kicker. He graduated from Arlington Texas State College with an associate degree in Science & Aeronautical Engineering. He was honorably discharged from the US Air Force after four years of service as a tactical instructor and guard dog handler in 1958. He spent several years in flight test engineering, optical sales for Bausch & Lomb and held the position of national sales manager for industrial abrasive companies. After his health declined, he spent many hours communicating with his many friends, emailing patriotic quotes and entertaining stories.
