Nancy Ann Davis passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012. Born in Silver City to Lonnie and Nola Dowell, Nancy spent her childhood years in the mountains of the Black Range climbing trees and throwing rocks honing her skills that she used to her advantage in softball. She was an avid baseball fan and loved springtime when the season would start. Nancy's family moved to Las Cruces in the 1940s where she stayed the rest of her life. Nancy is survived by her husband, Ray L. Davis, brothers; Ernie and Don Dowell; children; Pam (Dennis Applegate), Ray (Ann), Lori (Juan Colquitt), Sharla and three grandchildren; Derick Davis, Matthew Colquitt and JennaKay Colquitt. She was a devoted wife and mother. Always putting her family's needs and wants before her own, she made so many unselfish sacrifices, not because she had to but because she wanted to. She loved one hundred percent which made her extremely susceptible to being hurt one hundred percent. Always there for each and every one of us and only asking for love in return, nothing more. She always gave twice as much as she took. She loved her grandchildren and the highlight of her life was spending hours pitching baseballs, playing games and loving them. If you were lucky enough to have been loved by Nancy, you were fully loved, she gave everything she had. We have truly lost an angel on earth and God has gained one in heaven. Mom
