Nancy Wheeler Getz of Las Cruces, New Mexico (formerly of Anchorage, Alaska) entered Heaven's gates on February 21, 2021, following a lingering illness. Our loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and dear friend is now truly at peace. After 80 years of enriching the lives of the people who were so blessed to have her in their lives, may she live forever in our heart. Nancy was born July 5, 1940, in Springfield, Illinois to Harry W. and Louise Noll Wheeler. She met and married William G. Fults, also of Springfield, after graduating from Lanphier High School in Springfield. The military life eventually brought Nancy and her family to Alaska where she and Bill later divorced. She met and married Leon Getz and continued on the next road of her life adventure which eventually led to the Land of Enchantment-New Mexico. Nancy is survived by her husband, Leon Getz of Las Cruces, two sisters Shirley and Betty, three daughters, Mary Brenda, and Sandra, stepson, Glenn Geiser-Getz, stepdaughter, Kristy Getz, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many close relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her during her last days. Thank you for everything you have given us, Mom. We will forever cherish your bright eyes, your smile, your unconditional love, and the footprints you left across a thousand memories. You will be missed by so many.
