Natividad G. Nunez, 83, of Las Cruces, died Thursday Feb. 11, 2010. Natividad was born March 10, 1926 in Picacho, NM to Camilo and Clara Nunez. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably during WW II. While in the service he was a prisoner of war and earned the Army Occupation Medal and the WW II Victory Medal. Natividad G. Nunez, 83, of Las Cruces, died Thursday Feb. 11, 2010. Natividad was born March 10, 1926 in Picacho, NM to Camilo and Clara Nunez. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably during WW II. While in the service he was a prisoner of war and earned the Army Occupation Medal and the WW II Victory Medal. Natividad was a member of Our Lady of Health Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and his animals and always had a smile for all. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survive by his loving wife of 54 years Concepcion Nunez of the family home; sons Steve Nunez and Mary, Lupe Nunez and Shelly, Ralph Nunez and Nancy and Natividad Jr. (Toby) and Estella all of Las Cruces; daughters Clara Nunez and Joe and Myrna Nunez and Manuel all of Las Cruces, Lorenza Nunez and Adrian of Mesa, AZ and Sonia Esnayder and Mario of Tucson, AZ; brother Fred Nunez and Rosa of Roswell, NM and sister Maria Sedillo also of Roswell, NM. His many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive Natividad. A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 6 pm. His funeral mass will be at 10 am on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church with Fr. Ricardo Hinojal officiating, Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors.
