Neal Lloyd Cooper was born on March 11, 1985 in El Paso, TX and raised in Las Cruces, NM. He passed into the beyond on January 25, 2017 at the young age of 31. Neal was a graduate of Las Cruces High School and he studied fine art at New Mexico State University. Neal was the first grandchild in the Cooper family and he brought light to those connected to him through his gentle spirit and kind-natured demeanor. He loved science, philosophy, music, literature, and art. Neal was gifted in many areas. He was a talented oil painter and photographer, fond of abstract forms and graffiti style. Neal was especially talented in composing electronic music under the name of Ice 9 Transition and had a flair for playing original jazz-influenced piano ensembles. He was most at peace when hiking to the Organ Mountains and Dripping Springs with his closest friends. He was a proud uncle, boasting often of the love he had for his young nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Lloyd Gayle Cooper, Carolynn Ann France Cooper, Donald Earl Murrin, and Cora Maye Flint. Neal is survived by his mother Cynthia Jean Murrin-Garcia, stepfather David Garcia, father Kelt Lynn Cooper, and stepmother Elizabeth Nadine Bussey-Cooper. He also leaves behind his siblings: Kelt Quinn Cooper, Leigh Gael Cooper, her husband Troy Lynn Fuller and their three children. He will also be missed by his extended family members. Neal found solace through his spirituality, pulling guidance from several different outlets. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM at the University Church of Christ on February 4th, 2017 with a reception to follow. His final work of art will be on exhibit at The Farm, Saturday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Neal's name at Wells Fargo, to benefit the Organ Mountains National Monument.
