Loving father, brother, son, grandfather and friend, Neal Patrick Broderick went to be with our heavenly father on Thursday February 16, 2012. He was born to Gene and Barbara Broderick on September 29, 1959 in Rochester, NY. Neal honorably served his country with the United States Air Force retiring after 22 years of service. During those 22 years Neal earned the Air Force Achievement Medal with 2 devices, Air Force Commendation Medal with 4 devices, Meritorious Service medal with 1 device, Air Force Training Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 devices. He also served overseas in the first Gulf War Operation Desert Storm. After his military career Neal started his second career with Lockheed Martin as a HVAC Technician. Neal enjoyed sports; He played golf and was an official for the last decade at the PGA Golf Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada, a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, bowling but his greatest passion was being a supporter of his son's athletic career at Las Cruces High School. As a young man Neal found a love for music, he enjoyed listening to the Beatles and other artist but in 1994 He took his step -son, at the age of 11 to an Aerosmith concert. The sounds of Steven Tyler on vocals, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford on guitars, Tom Hamilton on bass, and Joey Kramer on drums started a fire in Neal's Heart, from then on Neal would purchase all their albums go to their concerts any chance he could get, even naming his son Steven after the lead singer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. "Dream On" our friend until we meet Again. Neal is survived by his loving son Steven Patrick Broderick of Las Cruces, NM, mother Barbara Broderick of Rochester, NY, brothers, Mike Broderick of Bensalem, PA, Allan Broderick and wife Terri of Rochester, NY, Kevin Broderick and wife Lynn of Clear Water, FL, step-son Mike Childers and companion Stephanie of Las Cruces, NM, Karen Olona and step-Grandson Jordan Childers of Las Cruces, NM and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Broderick. Funeral Mass will be Held at 10:00 am on Thursday February 23, 2012 at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Rite of Committal with military honors will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. PDF Printable Version
