Nell P. Edington, 99, of Las Cruces, died at home on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008. She was born Feb. 3, 1909 in Nogal, NM to Albert H and Eva May Pfingsten. Nell earned her teaching certificate in 1927 and taught for eleven years in Arabella, Lincoln and Asperus Canyon, NM. She had been a lifelong member of the Baptist Community and presently a member of First Baptist Church here in Las Cruces. Nell's passion was for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her four daughters Billie Edington of Las Cruces, JoAnn Edington of Blanding, Utah, Linda Allen of Mayhill, NM and Sally Rivera of Silver City, NM, survive her. Also surviving her are her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nell was preceded in death by her loving husband Fred J. Edington and by her two sons Albert H. Edington and Fred C. Edington. Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home with Pastor John Mikul officiating. Nell's cremains will be laid to rest next to her husband Fred at the Angus Cemetery in Ruidoso, NM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home, 2200 S.
