Nelson Clayshulte Jr., 95, of Mesilla, NM died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at his home. "Dyke" as he was fondly known was born Feb. 1, 1917 in Tucson, AZ to Nelson and Frances Norton Clayshulte Sr. He was a faithful member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years but was better known for being a farmer for many years in the Mesilla Valley. Nelson Clayshulte Jr., 95, of Mesilla, NM died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at his home. "Dyke" as he was fondly known was born Feb. 1, 1917 in Tucson, AZ to Nelson and Frances Norton Clayshulte Sr. He was a faithful member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years but was better known for being a farmer for many years in the Mesilla Valley. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his two daughters Sallie and Nancy Clayshulte both of Mesilla, NM; two brothers Leslie Clayshulte and wife Betty of Mesilla , NM and Nolan "Chic" Clayshulte of Mesilla Park, NM; sister Lorna Russell and husband Paul of Scottsdale, AZ; granddaughter Samantha "Sam" Reinhold and by many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 in the chapel at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Mason's will provide the Masonic Rite for Mr. Clayshulte. The honor of being a pallbearer will go to John, Marshall, Nelson and Joe Clayshulte, Victor Sloan and Gary Saunders.
