Norbert Waleke July 13, 1936 - February 26, 2020 Norbert Leonard Waleke "Norm", age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Norm was born on July 13, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from high school, he served in the US Army, the US Navy and the US Naval Reserves, a total of 23 years. After his active duty, he went on to work for the Department of Defense at White Sands Missile Range until retirement in 1991. Norm and his wife, Pat met in 1966 at WSMR while both were serving in the military, they were married in El Paso, Texas on February 29, 1968. Norm is survived by his wife and leaves behind many friends, especially Fernando Bustamante, his family and all the working folks that Norm really enjoyed talking with at Delicias Cafe. He had a special gift of gab, never met a stranger and was someone that could bring a smile or a laugh no matter where he was. Per the families request there will be no services.
