Norberto Aragon

Norberto Aragon, 70, of Las Cruces died Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Art as he was fondly known was born May 15, 1940 in Tucumcari, NM to Juan and Cecilia Quintana Aragon. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served our country honorably. He was also retired after many years of faithful service from General Telephone Co. He enjoyed woodwork and traveling but his passion was for his family. Art will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughters Patricia "Trish" Carpenter (Robert) of Las Cruces and Elizabeth Kotiaho (Markku) of Longmont, CO; 6 grandchildren Kristin, Victoria, Julianna, Ethan, Gabrielle and Emma; brothers J. B. (Jordana), Charles, Ray (Kathy), Anthony (Josephine) and Sam (Esther); sisters Dorothy Chavez(Jose), Elaine Mirabal (Luis), Tina Steel (Terry), Agnes Bryant (John) and Lori Smith (Eric). Also surviving him are his nieces, nephews and cousins. Art was preceded in death by his loving wife Stella Aragon and by his brother Marvin. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at 11 AM on Monday March 7, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home with Fr. Don Adamski officiating. The United States Navy and the Devil Dogs Marines of Las Cruces will provide military honors. At his request cremation has taken place and his and his wife's cremains will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
