Mrs. Harris, 81, passed away on Sunday, February 25th, 2018 at her home in Las Cruces. Mark Harris will officiate the service. Norma was born on June 15, 1936 in Denver, Colorado; the daughter of Norman Russell and Dorothy Charlotte (Dumbauld) Adams. On July 21st, 1956 she married Jackie Ray Harris in Denver. Mrs. Harris, 81, passed away on Sunday, February 25th, 2018 at her home in Las Cruces. Mark Harris will officiate the service. Norma was born on June 15, 1936 in Denver, Colorado; the daughter of Norman Russell and Dorothy Charlotte (Dumbauld) Adams. On July 21st, 1956 she married Jackie Ray Harris in Denver. Jack preceded her in death on May 30, 2010. They lived in many places through the years, including Carlsbad, Hobbs, Alamogordo, Tucson, and Las Cruces. Norma worked many jobs, sewed and crocheted. She was by Jack's side working on construction projects, landscaping and various projects he always had going. She celebrated her growing family and crafted each new spouse or baby a handmade Christmas stocking. She kept her heart for her family and the simple faith that God would carry them through it all. She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Ferris of Wichita Falls, TX; children Mark Harris and wife Debbie of Tucson and grandchildren Stacy and husband Keil, Ryan and wife Jaclyn, Amy and husband David; Dale Harris and wife Tammy of Carlsbad and grandchildren Kimberly and husband Carl, and Cody; Sandra Mayberry and husband Bob of Artesia and grandchildren Craig and wife Hannah, Jeff, and Jacqueline; Steve Harris and wife Chrissy of Las Cruces and grandchildren Hannah, Eric, Hailey and Ethan; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 17th at Getz Funeral Home Chapel in Las Cruces for Norma Lee Harris. Donations to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home in Portales are requested in lieu of flowers. Memorial Service Information
