Norma Ruth Tacquard, 87, of Las Cruces passed away December 5, 2020, at the Village at Northrise. She was born to James Clonnie and Fern Elna Cullins, January 13, 1933, in Englewood, Kansas. She was the eldest of two children with her brother, J.C., preceding her in death. Norma graduated from Sidney High School in Sidney, Nebraska, in 1951. She married Lee Kinney the day after graduation and together they had four children. In 1974, she married Clarence Tacquard. Both men preceded her in death.

Norma's greatest love in life was her family. She is survived by her four children: Jay Kinney and wife Rachel of Charlottesville, VA; and Curtis Kinney and wife Lana, Carol Kinney Perry and Teryl Kinney Beck and husband Rick, all of Las Cruces. Norma is also survived by five grandchildren: Dominic Fierro, Heather Kinney, Meegan Fierro Abella and husband Carl, Eric Fierro and wife Tomasita, and Amanda Fierro Lujan and husband Joshua. In addition, she was a great-grandmother to six beautiful girls.

Norma loved animals, especially all the dogs and cats that were part of her family over the years. She bowled in established leagues for many years and was also a huge NMSU Aggies and Dallas Cowboy fan. Upon her retirement, she and Clarence (aka Tac) enjoyed traveling throughout the US in their RV.

While Norma was living in Nebraska she was employed by the Sioux Ordinance Depot. Following her relocation to New Mexico, she was employed by WSMR from July 1957 to December 1959. Norma went to work for NMSU in 1963 and in 1991, after 28 years of service, she retired.

No services are planned at this time, but if you would like to remember Norma, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association would be greatly appreciated.
