Olga I. Kowalski, 81, of Las Cruces, NM died Friday July 29, 2005 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. She was born April 20, 1924 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Andrew and Julia Straborny who immigrated to the US through Stanton Island. Olga was an avid antique collector, she loved to cook and be in her garden. She was a loving wife , mother and grand mother. Most people knew Olga as the "Lady in Purple" as she had a great passion for the color. After the death of her husband her grandson Brett was born and kept the passion of life flowing through her body. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her four sons, Walter P. and wife Cheryl, Joey and wife Jill, Ronnie, and Mark and wife Annette all of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Walter III, Racheal, Michelle, and Brett, two greatgrandchildren Josh and Jeromy. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Kowalski Sr., and by 12 brothers and sisters her closest being Julia Mickune. A visitation will be held Wednesday August 3, 2005 from 5-7 PM at Getz Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will follow the same evening at 7 PM also in the Getz Chapel. Mass will be Thursday August 4, 2005 at 10 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The rite of committal will follow at the Masonic Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
