Opal O. Green, 80, of Roswell, NM and formerly a resident of Salem, NM for about 56 years died Monday, August 14, 2006. She was born May 19, 1926 in Abilene, TX to William and Ollie Magill. Opal had been a member of the Salem Baptist Church for over 50 years and was retired from the Hatch Valley Public Schools as their Cafeteria Manager. She will forever be deeply missed by all her family and many friends who knew and loved her. Mrs. Green is survived by her two sons Ron Green and wife Amie of Roswell, NM and Tom Green of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren Stacie Boswell and husband Sid of Blacksburg, VA, Bryce Green of Denver, CO, Aaron Green and Ruth Anne Green both of Corpus Christi, TX. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack Green and her daughter Darlene Green. A visitation will be held from 9 AM to 10 AM Saturday August 19, 2006 at the Salem Baptist Church in Salem, NM, where the funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM with Pastor Gerry Chavez officiating.
