Opal T. Strong, 94, a life long faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and loving mother and friend went to peaceful rest Monday, December 25, 2006 at Mountain View Medical Center, Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born April1, 1912 in Bakersfield, Missouri to Bud and Lizzie Hayes. She moved to New Mexico in 1958 with her late husband K.B. Strong. She was a loving caring mother and grandmother and will be missed by family and friends. She retired from Pioneer Wear in Albuquerque and moved to Las Cruces in 1984 at the death of her living husband. She was a dedicated member of Central Assembly of God Church in Las Cruces and loved teaching and helping others with the Lord's work. She was preceded in death by brothers Clois (Red); James (Mark); Marvin (Jack); Eunice (Toot); Donald; Melvin; Herschel and Lloyd (Shorty) Hayes. She was the only daughter among eight brothers. Survivors include one son, Kenneth L. and wife Delfina Strong of Las Cruces. Grandchildren include Kenneth C. Strong, Melissa Juarez and Stephanie Strong of Las Cruces. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home.
