Orlean Holsome, age 92, of Las Cruces, NM entered eternal life Monday July 29, 2013 at La Posada- Mesilla Valley Hospice. Orlean was born November 20, 1920 in Elgin, Texas to Estella and Robert Ramzy. She was the oldest of six children. Orlean Holsome, age 92, of Las Cruces, NM entered eternal life Monday July 29, 2013 at La Posada- Mesilla Valley Hospice. Orlean was born November 20, 1920 in Elgin, Texas to Estella and Robert Ramzy. She was the oldest of six children. Orlean loved taking care of children since the 1960s, and eventually opened up her own daycare business which she named "Holsome Daycare." She continued her business for many years until she retired in 2000. Family and friends were her passion and joy. Orlean loved dressing up with her hats and jewelry to match and playing scrabble with all of her family. She was also a faithful member of the Church of Christ until her health failed her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Samuel V. Holsome, her daughter Helen Holsome Lewis, her grandchildren Angela Burton, Jericho T. Taylor, and Alizayah Holsome. Those left to mourn her passing include her sister Stella Gibson; four brothers, Robert Ramzy Jr., Isaiah Ramzy, Frank Ramzy, and Willie Ramzy; three daughters, Kathleen M. Holsome Sellers, Betty J. Fielder, and Laurabeth Y. Taylor; three sons, Jerry A. Holsome, Nathan Holsome, and Marvin J. Holsome; nineteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Orlean will be missed greatly by many. The funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ, 1520 North Mesquite Street, Las Cruces, NM on August 5, 2013 at 10:00 am with Bro. Alfred Rucks. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho, Las Cruces, NM, immediately after services. PDF Printable Version
