Orpha Mae Rostad Ogg, March 1, 1920 - July 16, 2018, passed away at the age of 98. As a born-again believer in Jesus Christ her Savior, according to Philippians 3:20, her citizenship is now in Heaven. Orpha has gone home and is being reunited with many friends and loved ones who have preceded her. Orpha was born on March 1, 1920, in Verdel, Nebraska to Olive Wilson and Henry Alfred Rostad; graduating from High School in Midwest, Wyoming. On March 1, 1939, she married Roy Elston Ogg. They spent their married life and raised their two daughters Darla Hapgood (Delano C.) and Lana Bristow (Aubrey D.) in Sinclair, WY. Later years were lived in Bairoil, WY and then retirement in Thermopolis, WY. During the years at Bairoil, Wy, Orpha and her husband Roy operated an Outfitters business out of their home, guiding antelope hunters from all over the country; while enjoying their favorite hobby hunting American Indian artifacts. Orpha is lovingly survived by her 4 grandchildren Barbara Rasco (Bill), Roilynn Campbell (Carter), Allison Pittman (Mike), Scott Bristow (Sandi), and granddaughter in law Martha Hapgood, 11 great grandchildren, Christopher, Meghan, Amber, Sean, Courtney, Andrew, Analisa, Jack, Ryan, Charles and Caleb. Also survived by her 12 great-great grandchildren, Madeline, Olivia, Alleson, R.C., Wesley, Gemma, Noah, Ryan, Ella Grace, Brian, Leah and Seth. Orpha's greatest gifts were being the best wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. Orpha lived 65 years in Wyoming as a loving homemaker; occasionally working outside of her home at the Sinclair Refinery and later at Bonnie's Dress Shop in Rawlins, WY. During WWII Orpha was awarded for her service with the Ground Observer Volunteers. After the death of her husband, Orpha lived at the Good Samaritan Village in Las Cruces, New Mexico for 25 years. She enjoyed all the activities and had many good friends at the Village. Orpha was a talented artist, gracing all our homes with paintings, painted jade and lovely works. Orpha was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Lewis Paul, her husband Roy, daughter Lana Lee Bristow and grandson Chris Hapgood. Orpha was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and honorary member of Saints Alive Sunday School Class at CBC, Las Cruces. Orpha is happy, she is healthy she is home. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave., Las Cruces, NM 88001 with Pastor Lyle Lionbarger of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice in Orpha's name.
