Paula Moreno Torres, 85 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Friday April 8, 2005 at University Terrace Good Samaritan Village. She was born June 30, 1919 in San Angelo, Texas to Ignacio and Julia Moreno. A resident of Las Cruces for about the last eight years, she spent most her life residing in Mathis, Texas. Paula was a homemaker and a member of the catholic community. Paula is survived by one daughter, Rosa Torres of Las Cruces; one son Jessie Torres Sr., of Laurens, SC. Two daughter-in-laws, Mollie Wallsteadt and Mary Ann Torres of Las Cruces. She is also survived by granddaughters Michelle, Mona, Jennifer, Jessica, Jordan, Daniella Torres, and Stephania Cespedes; Grandsons, Juan, Jessie Jr. Torres, and Elijah Cespedes. Also surviving her are eleven great grandchildren, Jessie, Adam, Heather, Juan, Rachelle, Asahi, Balanese, Joe Michael, Andrew, Lonnie and Daniella. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held from 7 to 8 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Masonic Cemetery.
