Pedro C. Montoya, 93, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007. He was born June 29, 1914 in Mesilla Park, NM to Concepcion and Felicitas Molina Montoya. Pedro was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably during WW II. He was also retired from WSMR after many years of faithful service as a security policeman. Pedro was a member of member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bingo. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Maria Montoya of the family home; children Minerva Torrez and husband Mario of Alamogordo, NM, Pedro (Peter) Montoya Jr. and wife Linda of El Paso, TX, Dolores Quintana of Tucumcari, NM, Eddie Montoya and wife Barbara and Amelia Luera and husband David all of Albuquerque, NM; brother Willie Montoya of Tortugas, NM and sisters Katie Montoya of Tortugas, NM and Cali Montoya of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving Pedro are his 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Pedro was preceded in death by his parents, sister Maria, brothers Alejandro, Epifanio, Teodoro, Manuel and Jose. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7:00 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM also Our Lady of Guadalupe with Fr. Don Adamski officiating. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Lorenzo Torrez, Alejandro Torrez, Ramon Jimenez Jr., Ray Montoya, Fernando Lopez, and Robert Gonzales. PDF Printable Version
